What happens to the MMC board?

Pipo63 Posts: 12 Rating: (0)	Mr Expert: I need to know what happens if I take a MMCboard 840C and after a while as being about two hours I reconnect instead. The 840C has lost all data? It starts as if nothing had happened? What happens then? thanks

Ekalavya Posts: 2964 Rating: (484)	Hello, Yes ofcourse data will get lost if MMC cpu of 840c ids removed because all ofthe cardsare mounted in a rack and have common supply.... Never try to remove this if it is removed you need to load the backup again.... Regards, Ekalavya

Pipo63 Posts: 12 Rating: (0)	Dear Ekalavya: I always thought that data (TEA1, TEA2, TEA3, TEA4, IKA, etc.) is stored in the placa NCK and maintenance of data is through the battery of NCK 9Vdc plate, so I thought that if removes only the MMC board to make a Ghost the HD externally to the machine. I considered reinstalling the same plate with the same HD MMC not affect anything was gonna start the machine, which tells me Ekalavya, I changed everything I thought for the maintenance DATA 840c. Jason. Experienced Member Joined: 7/13/2008 Last visit: 9/20/2024 Posts: 107 Rating: (9)	I took a look at the coursework book from 1998, and indeed plcmd is stored on the mmc. Is your plc configuration a complicated on, or very basic on this machine? The CSBis the board with the battery, that is not the nck. The nck has the digital drive bus interface on it. Generally, I have only to reload tea2 when I install a new hard disk or replace the mmc cpu, so long as I do my backp/restore system / user data proper. There is a small bit of Sram on the MMC cpu that contains some plc system data which is copied from the MMC cpu to the PLC upon end general reset mode. How is it working? I suspect TEA2 is in default configuration, thus on bootup the copied PLC md is already correct. Additionally, I understand you are ghosting the hard disks. I have had no success in making operational (bootable) hard disks using Ghost (5, 6.01, 7.5, or 8.2) regardless of settings used. Even the "ghost -AI" all blocks option doesn't seem to make the disk bootable. I am curious if you have tested any of your ghost images? I usually have to do the dr dos format of the hard disk, then copy a dr dos system/com files to the drive. Since there are often no floppies on the 840c systems, this is usually done from interlnk/intersvr. This becomes more difficult to arrange on new pc's. So long as all is working, that is what is important.

Pipo63 Posts: 12 Rating: (0)	Dear I do not have information on courses Sinumerik 840C, if you want to send me grateful. Again today we take a model board 6FC51100DB020AA2 MMC 2Gb HD and Windows v3.11. We made an image with the Ghost v11 and we loaded on the HD Ghost v5, and then in the future make the copy image via the parallel port as a CNC v5 Ghost Master PC and laptop as a slave. Then we put the MMC board in the machine and turned it on without any problems and we needed to load TEA2. Thanks
