Its difficult to comment (which is PPU), MLFB number signifies it is empty card. e.g. for PPU 270/271/290 turning application software with license CF card MLFB number is 6FC5835-1GY40-5YA0 |

Because of present COVID-19 pandemic issues, most of office staff is working from home. That is why in my previous post, I suggeseted you to raise support request so that you will get help on line quickly.
Please note, your system is 828D Basic & not 808d Advance. User or machine tool builder needs to set MD of axes configured. In configuration of MD, basically axis motor, encoder interfacing to power module hardware ports are defined so that NC/PCU understands the axis configuration. In axis MD setting all axes related data e.g. velocity, gains, softlimit, gear stages, no of encoders connected etc. etc. are defined. While writting/developing PLC logic, user/programmer needs to configure input/outputs of field elements & set NC/PLC interface signals via which all operational interlocks are set. It is prime responsibility of machine tool builder or PLC logic developer. All NC/application related logic/interlock is written/developed by NC controller (e.g. in your case turning related , in Siemens NC software)
In your case, i.e. MODE selection is operational via communication & setting of correct HMI, PLC, NC interface siganls so that interlocks as per machine logic requirement are set & it is machine tool builder/OEM/PLC developer responsbility.
