224XP - Convert 0-10v input to 4-20mA input

Darren_T3 Posts: 95 Rating: (10)	Howdy ‘yall, I have a 224XP with 0-10v analog inputs onboard. I have 2 analog input sensors that I need to connect to the 224XP. The 2 analog sensors provide 4-20mA signals. Is there a way to ‘convert’ the 0-10v input to a 4-20mA current input??? I have heard it said that it is possible but looking for any info on that. I am also not an electronics guru so if the answer involves resistors and such if I could get some kind of 4^th grade explanation it would be greatly appreciated so I don’t blow the thing up! neo Posts: 264 Rating: (59)	Howdy Darren, Yes it´s possible to convert a 0-10V signal to mA. The signal has to be convertet by a 500Ohm resistor so that the S7-200 'sees' a 0-10V signal. Of course in this case you only get a 0-20mA Signal, not 4-20. You have to include that in your Microwin Code! Irmantas I like yours for the depth of understanding. Everything I ever wanted to known so I expect to be reading up on the links you provide.
