412-5H CPU REDF LED

SRaza Posts: 15 Rating: (0)	Hello Everyone I am facing a problem that CPU(2) 412-5H Proper connected in rack 0 and 1 pwoer on properly. conncted to IM-153-2 . But having the REDF( Loss of reduncancy) is lit red. What could be the reason. as we have two ET200M ( i.e 4 IMs) . In each ET200M one IMs have commcuntion via PROFIBUS while the other has not. Please suggest me>>>>> Thanks in Advance.

S7 AUTOMAN Posts: 515 Rating: (56)	hi, what do you mean by saying the second IM has no communication? isnt it connected to the secondary/standby cpu via profibus too? Also in which port of your cpu did you connect the profibus cable? is it on the MPI/DP port or the DP port?

Hello, For better suggestions , we need the diagnostic buffer for the both CPUs.But still some points to be checked first: If you are using port X2(Integral DP interface),check BUSF2 LED of each CPU.If the LED is blinking, there is a possibility of a slave that is not responding on the network assigned for that CPU.Check LEDs on each slave on same network. In HW.Config use command Station-->Open ONLINE for more diagnostic aid to conclude more with what you have found by your visual inspection. Load the buffer for more information.Also check sections 5.1 and 5.3 of this manual. Best regards, Hamid Hosseini

Hi SRaza, 1) what the best time to switch the reserved H-CPU to RUN Mode? as most of the time when it is switch to RUN model we have reduncay Fault LED Red. what do u mean by this?switchover time? whenever one of the cpu or its associated components of an H system has a fault/is in stop mode, there will b a loss of redundancy and the particular REDFault LED will be on. This is a normal behaviour of an H CPU. or did you mean something else? Also note that whenevr you are trying to put back a STOP CPU back into RUN mode, make sure that no Step7 program window(LAD, VAT Table etc) is remained open online. 2) We have problem with the Commuction of X208 Switches? the commuction donst not work as per STAR toplogy? when one connector from Slave CPU is unpluged then it starts commuction but one switch has F LED continuously ON i faced with the similar problem some time ago, but somehow it is working fine now Try connecting it in different combinations(provided it shouldnt be complex connected unnecessarily). Also make sure that there isnt a conflict in the IP addressing of the networked components.

Pleas have a examiner view to my my design. i am facing problem with the sclcance x208 switch. we have star topology( is this toplogy ok as Star?). We want redundancy at each level. if we plug all the ports in switch( as per our design) we have then no communition and it seems that the switches does not support this configuration. if we have one port in TP900s ( instead of 2 ports as in our deisn) and 3 ports connection to PLC( instead of 4) then communtion goes ok, but with this we have BUS5F error in PLCs LED. SRaza Posts: 15 Rating: (0)	Yes sir we have assigned to 192.168.0.2 to S1 and 192.168.0.4 to S2. PLC1 192.168.0.5 PLC2 192.168.0.6 and 192.168.0.8 & 192.168.0.10 to TP900s.
