Wimlambrechts Posts: 4 Rating: (0)	Dear all I have an ET200M153-2 module with a 4 channel AO-card type 6ES7 332-5HD01-0AB0. This Island is on a profibus link to communicate with a Honeywell Experion System (witch is the master on the profibus) I manage to get a 0 to 10 V signal out of the AO-card, but i need 4 to 20 mA. Do i need to configure the AO-card to get mA or is it the master that has to provide the setting to the slave-device? Hope you can give me some hints greetings Wim

Late Platinum Expert Joined: 1/7/2006 Last visit: 11/17/2023 Posts: 2705 Rating: (318)	Dear Wim, You can configure the outputs for operation as voltage or current outputs, or disable these. You configure the outputs at the "output type" parameter in STEP 7. The output type "Voltage" and output range " 10 V" are set by default at the module. You can always use this combination of output type and range without having to program the SM332; AO 4 x 12 bit in STEP 7. For programming the AO module see the handbook S7-300 Automation System Module data and look in chapter 5.7 and further.

Wimlambrechts Posts: 4 Rating: (0)	Hello In my current configuration; the IO has to communicate with an EPKS system and not directly a PLC/STEP7. I presume that in this case the master (SST-profibus scanner)on the profibus needs to give the configuration of the output signal to the AO card using the right gsd-file. I have loaded the gsd file of the ET200M-2. In the Ext. Prms. of the AO-modulei can shoose 4..20mA as output for the specific channel, but the AO-card does not seem to take this setting. if anyone needs more info on the exact type of gsd and the exact setting on the AO-module i have used, just ask ;-) thnx Wim

Wimlambrechts Posts: 4 Rating: (0)	Hey I was just checking the other settings of the gsd-file and i have a doubt on the following: Analog-value format (see attachment) Here i can choose between S7 and S5. I'm not sure of the impact of the parameter, but maybe this explanes why the hwll system and the AO don't communicate as i want to. Correct me if i'm wrong but i guess that this parameter tells the module where to look for it's analog-output-type-configuration-setting. Wimlambrechts Posts: 4 Rating: (0)	ahaaa :-) There is another parameter that i might have mis-interpreted: In the Ext. Prms. of the modules of the ET200 you must give the Slot number. But how do i have to count? Is the slot number the same as the module-number? i'm confused because there are 3 'empty's' in the config of the ET200 modules. Do they also count as slot number? Where could i find a list with the explanations of the parameters of the gsd-file? thnx Wim
