Hi Experts, I had the same issue but have seen all the answers on this post. Yet I have a question - when the 6ES7 515-2AN03-0AB0 is configured as a 6ES7 515-2AN02-0AB0, I have a constant error-led on the device saying: "Module exists. faulty Differences were found between the loaded configuration and the offline project. The online and offline module configuration data are different. Fault LED (SF) Additional information for the module: Online article number: 6ES7 515-2AN03-0AB0 Offline article number: 6ES7 515-2AM02-0AB0" Is there a way to remove this error led somehow? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |

You can update the CPU in the hardware configuration to latest firmware version CPU (6ES7515-2AN03-0AB0). The new CPUs can be configured with STEP 7 version V18 or higher. Configuration with older software versions: Since the new article number (for example, 6ES7515-2AN03-0AB0) is not yet contained in previous STEP 7 versions, the CPU can also be configured as a predecessor version, i.e., with the previous article number (e.g. 6ES7515-2AM02-0AB0). The scope of functions then corresponds to that of the configured CPU (for example, firmware V2.9).The following entry explains how to handle CPUs with firmware versions that are not available in the installed STEP 7 version:109744163 When replacing a device: When replacing a CPU (for example, 6ES7515-2AM02-0AB0) with a compatible successor type (for example, 6ES7515-2AN03-0AB0), the STEP 7 project does not need to be changed; it is also not necessary to upgrade the STEP 7 project.
