A question regarding backplane bus system of CPU

We have a set with CPU315 DP and CP 343 Lean CP. We have managed iso-on-tco communication between PLC and third-party system. But our throughput of data is very low. We searched some reasons for that. We found out that backplane bus system between CPU and CP can make some reason. I have never think about backplabe bus. Can you recomend some documents or faqs about this ?? I have heard that backplane bus is MPI. If I want to change settings of MPI in our CPU I can only change it between 187,5kbit/s and 19,2kbit/s. Its very low for our application (if MPI is backplane bus, I do not know..). Thank you for your help. Best regards, Georgio
