After restarting PLC has no configuration and lost network driver for X2 port

Hi HugoD,

I had same problem, and i tried to fix it like you. The difference is that I am using Simatic Box IPC827D with CPU 1507S (F) in TIA Portal v14 SP1, also i dont have ET200 (is it necessery?)  

I followed your procedure and did everything like you. When i tried to download hardware configuration, PC was restarted. After restarting PLC has no configuration and i lost network driver for X2 port (Intel(R) Gigabit Network Connection). I tried to reinstall driver, but it still doesn't exist in device manager.

Do you have some idea how to solve this problem?

can it be that you assign the X2 to the PLC in the station configuration?

Hi CristopherD, 

I assigned X1 port with PC Station and X2 port with PLC. Network Driver for X1 port is Intel(R) Ethernet Connection I217-LM, and for X2 port, which I lost, is Intel(R) I210 Gigabit Network Connection.

then i think is all correct.

If you assign a Interface to the Soft PLC the Windows Part of the IPC have no longer access to this interface and the Interface is removed in the Windows Part of the IPC.

So, why I still can not download hardware configuration? And is it possible to download from Windows and Software Controller S7-1500 operating system (OS) that is installed on Simatic IPC? 

Btw. When I tried to download from laptop, with Windows 7 x64,  that was connected with IPC via Ethernet, everything was fine.

you can try to connect the PC after the first download to the X2 and Download the configuration from the 1507 to the SOFT PLC on the IPC which should now reachable on X2.

Normaly on the IPC the Windows part should be communicate with the Soft PLC over Softbus so that you can also load the complete config , i have no 1507 here at the moment , so i can't test this.

Network Controller is related to the Wireless card drivers. There are different XPS 17 computer models. If you can provide me the exact computer model I will able to provide the correct wireless card driver.

Also, please provide me the Device ID of the Network Controller; follow the instructions mentioned below to get the Device ID;

1)       In Device manager, right click Network Controller.

2)       Click Properties.

3)       Click Details Tab.

4)       Search for Device Instance ID.

5)       Provide the numbers after VEN and DEV.
