In module information -standard dignostic of module am getting error message as EXTERNAL ERROR FAULTY MODULE NO EXTERNAL AUXILARY VOLTAGE Now can you please tell me i have configured properly it as 2 wire thermocouple type... I have connected 2 pin M+of the sensor and M- to pin no3.. Same has been done for all input ... Am getting error as 7fffh... ie A OVERFLOW VALLUE... Regards By, Shan.

Hi Shan, As far as I can see, the wiring of the thermocoupleis correct. Make sure to have +24VDC on pin 1 (L+) and 0VDC on pin 20 (M), that may cause the "NO EXTERNAL AUXILARY VOLTAGE" error. Make sure your module setting (the square block inside your module) is set to A and in your hardware configuration you have selected the correct type of thermocouple. There's also following note I read in the manual: -An interconnection of M- and MANA is prohibited when using grounded thermocouples. In this case, you must ensure that low-resistance equipotential bonding is in place so that the permitted common-mode voltage is not exceeded. -Interconnect M- and MANA when using non-grounded thermocouples For wiring diagram see manual page 375: https://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/llisapi.dll?query=s7300+module+dat&func=cslib.cssearch&content=adsearch%2Fadsearch.aspx%3Ftab%3D2&lang=en&siteid=csius&objaction=cssearch&searchinprim=_searchinprim_&nodeid=99&x=16&y=8&cssearchengine=NEW&x=0&y=0 If all is wired correctly and set up correctly re-test, your SF should be gone.
