Analog input Thermocouple type configuration

Hello guys ,

I have some queries regarding thermocouple.

In one program  there is J-type (0-1200 deg cent) Analog input connected to 2AI Module , but In Hardware configuration there measuring type is 4-20mA selected , and process is going ok without any problem .

Can any one explain me why these type of configuration is needed. or 

if i want to do this Analog input Thermocouple type configuration to AI Module , how can i do this configuration and scalling ,

Hi,

It seems the thermocouple was connected to AI via thrmocouple transmitter.

So transmitter convert mv of thermocouple to 4-20mA.

also the AI not support every loop control signal of instruments, that depend on AI module order number and instrument signal.

If you ask about the scaling you have to assign AI address Chanel to IN in scale and HI_LIM 1200.0 and LO_LIM to 0.0 take care about bipolarity if you have value with minus signal make BIPOLAR True and so on.
