Hello mucha; I must say I have never worked with ifm efector As-i controllers, although the company's products have always rated very high in my experience; so is the quality of the documentation they offer. So basically the answer that you are looking for should be available on the ifm efector website, for every one of their gateways. For example, I found this document on their website: Siemens Step 7 project with Controller-e. Sincewe do not have any information on the specific models you are using, you will have to look at more specific information there by yourself. Now you have to understand that the basics of As-i comms are very simple, and very simple to understand. They only occupy16 words (for 32 As-i slaves) on any specified comm link. So a Profibus-As-i gateway will only reserve the required 2 words in the Profibus-DP master's memory map, whereeach slave will occupŷ 4 bits (except the first 4 bits, used for diagnostics). Each slave will be mapped to its block of 4 bits depending on the As-i slave address it uses. The document I have pointed to will show you that, even though it might not be for the particular model; of gateway you are using. There are of course more detailled info required to work with a particular model; please refer to the documentation available from your manufacturer. Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier |
