Automation softwares upgrade

Hello

Is it recommended to upgrade All automation software  like Step7 or WinCC and operating systems to ones with a newer versions? In our case there are many automation systems with different versions of OSs and simatic softwares.

What are the pros$cons of this idea?

Pros: New version software

1. More new features can find in up to date versions of software.

2. More robustness ( less errors)

3. Configuration usually comes will less simpler steps

Cons: New version software

1. Payment for an upgrade. Money matters YES

2. Upgrade Compatibility can be an issue sometimes - You need a deep study before you go for it.

before updating I would check if the new Version is still compatible with other versions installed at you PC. Generally I would say that a newer Version works with better performance and new functions...

Hello,

you must Install SP1 and then UPD9 fpr Step7 Professional V13.

You must install Startdrive V13 SP1.
