Download the V90 catalog from here http://w3app.siemens.com/mcms/infocenter/dokumentencenter/mc/Documentsu20Brochures/E20001-A280-P670-V2-7600.pdf. Cables are near the end. For each drive, you will need 1x power cable (drive to motor) 1x encoder cable (drive to encoder) 1x brake cable (drive to motor brake, if used) For the signals, you have two choices 1. Cable and terminal board combination I use option 2 since I can connect most signals directly to the PLC and not do extra wiring, but most people choose option 1. For drive programming, any USB to mini USB cable will work. I have hundreds of these from various old mobile phones, hard drives, other gadgets. I'm sure Siemens sells one. Yeah, use MODBUS, although once you wire up the Pulse and directions signals, ESR, all of the various +24 and M required signals, having a MODBUS connection does not accomplish much (you can get fault code and actual position). EDIT: Another thing to keep in mind is that the V90 digital outputs are SINK LOGIC (I want to seriously hurt the person who decided this). That means that any input to the PLC must by 0 based for a logic 1. This means the you connect the +L supply for the inputs to M on the PLC module. Also, all of your sensors must be NPN. not PNP. Again this only applies to inputs for the PLC module, not any expansion modules. |
