CAM module

Can anyone tell me about CAM module? What is in it and specialty?can we use normal IO module over CAM module? Thanks in advance

I still do not understand what you are asking about.

Do you mean TO CAM and e.g. TM TIMER versus standard digital outputs? Or maybe FM352/452?

They switch digital outputs based on parametrized ON/OFF positions and actual position read from an encoder. Advantage over standard digital outputs - they are faster and their cycle is isochronous.

FM352/452 nowadays are outdated and their speed is not making wow effect as it used to be.

Possibly.

You need to know max speed of an axis, required switching accuracy and min response time your equipment can achieve.

Ex.

speed - 3600 deg/second (600 rpm)

accuracy - 10 deg

10/3600 = 2.8 millisecond <- response time less then this roughly.
