changing analog input module

Dear all,

Is it possible to change one analog input module (physically remove one analog module and replace it with new one)on S7 400H while the CPU is running? if possible is there any tips I should know about it?

Modyfing the system during operation is possible via CIR. CIR lets you perform certain modificationswhile your system is running. With CIR you cand modify/change your distributed IO configuration during runtime.

There are some hardware requirements to be able to change during runtime. For example; S7-400 CPU standard or fault tolerant,install ET-200M modules with hot swapping active bus and DPV0 ET-200M modules.

Also the user program must containthis set of OBs(OB 40 to OB 47), OB80, OB82,OB83,OB85 and OB122.

The thing which is extremely important is, if you are replacing analog input module, remember to simulate the analog values to avoid interruption of the process during change.

Hi 

I know I'm late but for any body.

In 400H if you need to redundant network you have to use ET200 that support this option(IM 153_2,...) with special bus module or I/O 400 module on UR rack you can download OB122 and special OB83 to CPU and change I/O module without stop.

This OBs is just for change module but if you used that I/O addresses on your program you need other OB (8x,12X,..)

If you are using Y link on your config and nonredundancy devices , you can change module but you have to keep in mind cpu dosent stop but you loose this I/O addresses and that modules after removed module on nonredundant ET200.
