What about using RTC function that could simplify ur work i hope..U may lose values as ur using non retentive timers in case of power fail or download... This RTC function uses Set RTC & Read RTC functions under Clock & u can compaer them with ur values entered in HMI.. C the link if ur trying RTC https://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/llisapi.dll?func=cslib.csinfo&lang=en&objid=19294366&caller=view Regards, Nelliyan.G |

I just found out what the problem was. I had a overlap in my addresses C0= VW118, C1= VW119 and C2= VW120. They should be C0= VW118, C1= VW120 and C2= VW122 because a Word is 2 bytes. I changed this in my program and the timer works. Thanks to siemens support and all replies!! R. Jamin

Hello, I''m not sure what it is you want to do exactly but Another aproach to yourcasemay be reading the system time in integer and then do a simple compare to start/ stop functions at time. How can you read out the S7-200 CPU clock and output the values in integer format and how can you set the S7-200 clock with default integer values? Regards,. Marcjan |

Hi Marcjan, I'm a novice in programming plc's. I am trying to make a timer with a input for hours, minutes and seconds greater than the max input of the standard timers. I solved my problem by changing the addresses ( see previous reply ). But I will certainly try your suggestion, thanks for your reply. Kind regards, Raoul Jamin

Dear Jamin The reason suggesting the system RTC is ur timer may lose the values after download or during power off.. Also ur Vw values will be lost if they are not retentive,,u may lose the values & ur comparison may fail even in the correct conditions,,, due to this reasons we are suggesting the RELIABLE SYSTEM CLOCK.. Hope u understood Regards, Nelliyan.G |
