Communication EM277 with a third party master which is only reading input data

opusat Posts: 1 Rating: (0)	Hello Wizard, In this case: Is it compulsory to use outputs with the EM277?. i.e. could the universal module suggested by you, be not output/inputs but just 20 inputs? I am trying to connect a third party master to collect data from 12 EM277 slaves. In the slaves, the data I want to collect is at VW0 to VW32. But by default the EM277 "creates" the output buffer first and then the input buffer (Please see attachment). I do not want the master to write any values to the slaves. And my customer is reluctant to change their code and move the info for validation reasons. Do you think that modifying the gsd file to include a new universal module at the end called "32 Words Input" 0x40 ,0x5F will do the job and no output buffer will be created at the EM277?
