Hello gganesh; How new to the S7-1500 are you? Do you know how to set it up as a Profibus-DP master and use the Profibus catalog to import a gsd file to integrate a DP-slave in TIA Portal? If not, please indicate so, we may be able to provide information on the subject. if yes, you should be able to use the following FAQ to set up our project: The FAQ is originally written for a S7-400 DP-master in a Simatic Manager project (Project 1) and a S7-315-2DP acts as a slave programmed in another Simatic Manager (Project 2). The principle remains the same, even if you have TIA Portal for the master and Simatic Manager for your slave. First, configure the S7-400 as a Profibus slave in Step 7 v5.x (Simatic Manager). Determine the number, size and order of data exchange modules you will need, define the slave I/o modules with them. Save the project. Once this is done, go to the gsd file link provided and download the gsd for that CPU (the slave S7-400) Use that gsd in TIA Portal and insert it in the S7-1500 hardware catalog; then create a Profibus slave with the S7-400 gsd ; setup the data exchange modules as were created in Step 7 v5.x. Carefully study point 6 and the last table in the FAQ: the data modules must be the same size and order in both CPUs, but the type must be reversed: inputs of the S7-400 slave must be incorporated as outputs in the s7-1500 master, outputs of the s7-400 must become inputs to the s7-1500. This should give you a good start. Hope this helps, Edit: from the Step 7 v13 SP1 Update 9 Help files: Introduction A GSD file (device data file) contains all the DP slave properties. If you want to configure a DP slave that does not appear in the hardware catalog, you mustinstallthe GSD file provided by the manufacturer. DP slaves installed via GSD files are displayed in the hardware catalog and can then be selected and configured. Requirement The hardware and network editor is closed. You have access to the required GSD files in a directory on the hard disk. Procedure To install a GSD file, proceed as follows:
You will find the new DP slave installed by means of the GSD file in a new folder in the hardware catalog.

I also had the same situation. I have a project (S7 1500 fail-safe use CP1542-5) connected to CPU 400 redundancy via IM153-2 and Y-coupler modules. I tried to follow the steps in the Pdf file but still can not connect to one. Do I have to write any more functions to send and receive data? Please help me! Thank you a lot. I used TIA Portal V15.1 and PCS 7 for the project. AttachmentThe picture of CPU 400 with CPU 1500.docx (587 Downloads) |
