Communication Sinamics S120 CU320 with the new CU320-DP

Quin Carpeso Posts: 5 Rating: (0)	Hello, I'm working to replace our old Sinamics S120 CU320 with the new CU320-DP, I bought a new CF card for this new CU320-DP since the old CF card from CU320 will not work. Would like to ask for your help on how to copy the old program of CU320 to the new CU320-DP, I have tried copying the user folder from the old CF card to the new CF card but my CU320-dp would still not work. Please advise any other procedure on how I can make my new CU320-DP operational. Thank you in advance. ChristophD Grandmaster-Expert Joined: 5/12/2006 Last visit: 11/12/2024 Posts: 22446 Rating: (3029)	Hello, you can try the following: Connect Starter to the old CU320 and Upload the configuration change the device type in starter to the new CU320-2 , the data will automatic converted to the new CU320-2 Download the data to the CU320-2 What exactly is not working? have you copy the right FW to the CU320-2 CF? Have you also check the DQ devices? If you have not the right modules which supported bei FW V4 (Ending Ordernumber 3 or above) then the configuration is not running with the CU320-2. Just to give you an overview of our Sinamics S120 configuration, our current set up consist of CU320 (6SL3040-0MA00-0AA1) with Active Line Module (6SL3130-7TE21-6AA3) and Single Motor module (6SL3120-1TE23-0AA1). Since CU320 (6SL3040-0MA00-0AA1) is already obsolete, we are advised to replace it with CU320-2DP (6SL3040-0MA00-0AA0). Since the old CF of CU320 (6SL3054-0CD00-1AA0) will not work for the CU320-2DP, we bought also a new CF card (6SL3054-0EE00-1BA0). I Tried copying the user folder of the old CF card to the new CF card but when I loaded it to the new control unit, the ready LED of the control unit, active line and single motor module won't turn green or ready mode. When copying CF card to a new CF Card, do I need to copy all the contents of the old CF card to the New CF Card? can you please advise the correct procedure. Many thanks again and God Bless.

ChristophD Grandmaster-Expert Joined: 5/12/2006 Last visit: 11/12/2024 Posts: 22446 Rating: (3029)	Hello, 1.) 6SL3120-1TE23-0AA1 is not compatible with CU320-2 , here you need the successor product. 2.) if you use the same Control Unit Type you can copy the complete content in you case only the User Folder, so you do i right. But on the new CF must also the FW stored for the CU320-2 Dp, so if you order only a empty card then you must copy the USER from the old card and the new FW which you can download. If the CF is delievered with a FW then onlky the USER. Have ou try to connect the CU320 online after the copy of the Userfolder and Power on? How ist the LED State of the CU320-2 in this case. If the FW detect the old Motor module it go in Errorstate with Fault F1360, but you can connect to it an diagnostic this problem! Regards Christoph

Below is the LED's status of the CU-320-2DP, Active Line and Single Motor Module; CU-320-2DP RDY- orange DP1- orange OPT- green Active Line Module (6SL3130-7TE21-6AA3)- orange Single Motor Module (6SL3120-1TE23-0AA1)- orange Thank you again in advance and hope to hear from you again soon.

You can try to get online to the CU320-2 and then there should be a fault present that the topology contains a non supported device. The old motormodule is not compatible with the new CU and must be changed!. Regards Christoph
