Hi Everybody. I am writing because I have a problem with a new CP that I must install and establish communication to an old PLC S5. There is an archive attached to this topic called "Images" where you will find some images related to my description. In the image (00 - Before), a general description of the project is shown. In the beginning, there was a PLC S5 in communication with a CP whose model is unknown for me but I know the project was programmed with WinCC V5.0 and the communicaction module was a CP-1613. The communication was possible thanks to a special adapter HP Ethertwist (Image 02) connected via serial port to the module CP-1430 (Image 01) as the other side was connected via RJ-45 port to the module CP-1613. But now, I have to change the CP due to the fact the original CP broke down, Obviously, there is no an exact replacement (the CP has been discontinued), so we decided to buy a new CP (Model 6AV7241-1BA14-0DA1). The application was completely reprogrammed with WinCC V7.2 and we use a new communication module (CP-1623) because that was the recomendation by our local seller (Image 00 - Now). In the Images 03 and 04, you can see the original configuration of he CP-1613 module (Duplex mode, Media Type and Transmission Rate). In the Images 05 and 06 you can see some configuration in the WinCC driver (S5-Transport (CP1413-1)) from SIMATIC S5 ETHERNET LAYER 4 related to the MAC Address form the S5 PLC. In the Images 07 and 08, you can see the configured IP address (174.168.1.1). From the Images 09 to 14 the current configuration is shown. Everything was possible with the previous installation of SIMATIC NET V13 and the correct detection of the new module (CP-1623). In the "Siemens Configuration Settings" it's possible to configure the IP address and the access point as well, but at the moment of finishing the rest of the configuration in the PG/PC interface it's not possible to see the "Net Parameters" (Duplex mode, Media Type and Transmission Rate) just like the original configuration (Image 14). In the Image 15, a configuration of the driver is done into the WinCC V7.2. According to the manual the driver for both CP-1623 and CP-1613 is the (S5-Transport (CP1413-1)) although I think I should change the driver to "S5 Transport (TCP/IP)". According to my project, I only have two questions: 1.- Where do I find the "Net Parameters" that I need to configure the rest of the communication parameters just as the same way as the original project? 2.- Is the configuration of the driver (Image 15) in WinCC V7.2 (S5-Transport (CP1413-1)) the same as the configuration (Image 06) in WinCC V5.0 or should I change the driver? If it does, Which driver? Thank you in advance for your help. Best regards. AttachmentImages.zip (113 Downloads) |

Thank you for your advice. But, Where do I find de “Net Parameters”? Do I still need that information? |

Thank you in advance for your help. I have changed some configuration and I still cannot communicate the new CP to the old S5 PLC. So, I have 3 questions to try to solve the problem. I just attached a new archive that includes some pictures ("Questions"). Question 1: To configure the old communication module CP1613, on picture A I can configure some Net Parameters such as Duplex Mode, Media Type and Transmission Rate. However, to configure the new communication module CP1623, on picture C I cannot see those parameters. Where do I find those paramaters? I can't find anything neither in the interface PG/PC nor in the Communication Settings. Notice that on picture B and D I had to configure the same MAC Address. Question 2: On WinCC Explorer, by checking the connection properties in the drive "S5-Transport (CP1413-1)" on picture A, I realize some tags are configured as Local and Remote TASP (PC and PLC) and the Ethernet Address concerning the PLC as well. I wrote the same configuration for the new version (Picture B). The question is: Is there any place in the WinCC Explorer (V7.2) where I should write the word "PC" in order to match the configuration with the word written in TSAP?. Question 3: On WinCC Explorer (V5.0), The "Set Interface PG/PC" had an access point called "CP_H1_1:--->CP1613(ISO)". See picture A. As a consequence, the system parameters on WinCC have got as a device name the same legend (/CP_H1_1:/CP1613(ISO)). See picture B. Nowadays, On WinCC Explorer (V7.2), the "Set Interface PG/PC" has an access point called "CP_H1_1:--->CP1623.ISO.1". See picture C. So, the the system parameters on WinCC have got as a device name the same legend (/CP_H1_1:/CP1623.ISO.1). See picture D. Is this configuration correctly written in order to match and make it compatible with the new module? Is this enough to reach a successful communication? Thank you in advace for your answer.
