I have a program in the cpu,and got the project backupped on disk. How can I check if the project backup is the same as the cpu online program? I saw in the manual that you can compare blocks folder ->Select blocks folder->Options->Compare blocks but I want to check the rest of the project too like CFC charts and also Wincc, the whole project. I saw VXM manager, but unable to select the online project. How do I do that? Thx

Yoga Shankar Posts: 288 Rating: (22)	There is one simple method..... just open the backed up project on the es and try taking any one chart online. If the cgart comes online and you are bale to monitor the variables, it means that the project is the same as the one downloaded.

Hi, then it is not the project wich was downloaded to the CPU (at least it is not the corresponding version). 1.) In any case where the actual project (version) is not the project from wich was downloaded the last time you are not able to download "changes only" (timstamp from download will not match). If you just try to go online there will be a message box about that. For example this is the case if you retrieve an older backup but there was already a download from a newer version. 2.) If the actual project is the project from wich was downloaded the last time but there are changes wich are compiled but not downloaded, you will get also a message box, if you try to go online, telling you this circumstance. In this case you could do a download of changes. 3.) Also if there are changes wich are even not compiled yet, there will be a clearly hint about that. In that case you can compile and then download changes. In PCS7 (or with CFC) a project and the downloaded program always belong together. With VXM you could be able to compare the online program with your project version. But this is only possible from the moment VXM is activated. As soon VXM is activated a xml file is created after each download. This xml file can be compared (by the VXM tool) with the current project. Additionaly it is possible to compare to offline projects with each other. VXM needs a licence. Regards, mark btw....the plc doesn't know charts.With compiling CFC there are FCs and DBs generated. Only those are downloaded to the CPU.
