Dear expert, i am new in Step7 programming and i recently read this manual (see attachment), it says (in page 85, ch 9) "if there are not enough internal memory bits in a CPU to save all the data, you can store specific data in a shared data block" from that statement, may i conclude that data blcok not stored in CPU ? and in case it's not stored in CPU where's data block stored ? thanks, regard Shaumi Arif AttachmentS7_GS.pdf (134 Downloads) |

Hello shaumi; Each CPU has different memory areas reserved for different activities. But the "standard" data areas (input image table, output image table, M flags) do not constitute the only available memory areas that you can use. For example, in the technical specs of the CPU 317-2DP, you will find these data under the section CPU-Blocks (open the Technical (CAX) tab): Flags Number, max.: 4096byte (with 8 bits/byte, gives you a maximum number of Flag bits of 32,768 Data Blocks: Number, max.: 2048 Size, max.:64 kByte https://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/llisapi.dll?func=cslib.csinfo&lang=en&objid=6ES73172AK140AB0&caller=view |
