connect AQ of one PLC to AI of another

I would like to connect AQ of one PLC to AI of another PLC to send analog process value. Analog signal will be 4-20mA and PLCs are S7-1200 and S7-300/1200. What I am thinking is connect the A+ to A+ and A- to A- with a shielded cable. Will it work? Can I safely do it? Thanks in advance. BR//Ashadul

IBN-Service Posts: 8946 Rating: (999)	Yes. But be sure that earthing / grounding of both PLC is done! If there is a longer distance between both machines, use a additional grounding cable (16mm² at least)!

Jeff Casagrande Posts: 1529 Rating: (202)	Yes, that should be how to do it. Analog outputs are analog outputs. Analog inputs are analog inputs. S7300/1200 is not relevant. What is the concern?
