Hello , in one of my project i have considered one 630A, 100mV DC shunt. Now i want to connect DC Ammeter and DC transducer with shunt so i did wiring in series (see attached file). Will it work correctly ? Please guide. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ AttachmentDC circuit.pdf (310 Downloads) |

In principle yes, however you need to add fuses to your circuit, just to be safe one for each leg of your measuring leads on the shunt, as close as possible to the shunt. Make shure your fuses will have enough breaking capacity for your short ciurcuit current. I have had luck with devices like this one, but these need to be calibrated and checked periodically, a shunt is more reliable but I just don't like them, I'm always afraid some maintenance monkey will short it with a pipe wrench or something. |
