Connecting with S5 controller throw Ethernet-Com adapter

Has anyone tried connecting to step 5 using Windows 10 with and win XP virtual machine and using an Ethernet to COM adapter. I made several connection attempts using a converter from Siemens 6es5 734-1bd20 and USB-COM adapters. The picture is always the same. The connection starts working with the new USB COM adapter and then the adapter smoothly dies within half an hour. Apparently some kind of conflict. Here on the forum I read the old branches that this is impossible. I did it, but only for a short time. Therefore, the idea arose to try an Ethernet-COM adapter. Who will advise what?
