Hello AGrS, In those situations, I suggest you use the Local Mode. Local Mode is specially designed for local operation. Like Automatic and Manual mode, Local Mode is used so a operator can control the object from a certain location. This will prevent dangerous situations like the operator controls the motor from the faceplate while standing next to the motor. It is a standard APL functionality. See the following attachment. I made a selection from the APL library on Local Mode AttachmentProcess Control System PCS7 Advanced Process Library (V8.1).pdf (136 Downloads) |

Please see the following diagram in attachment. You will have to set the block to Local Mode, which is basically a mode like any other: Manual and Automatic. You can exit the local mode by two ways with the use of the featurebit 10: If FeatureBit 10 = 0, You can exit from Local to Manual mode If FeatureBit 10 = 1, You change back to the mode which was last active. There are multiple possibilities for using the local mode which is presented by the LocalSetting parameter: Local Setting 1 and 3: Control settings are made by CFC logic, runtime monitoring is active, Interlocking functions of the block are activated in accordance with input parameter ByProt = 0 or deactivated (ByProt=1). Local Setting 2 and 4: Control settings are made based on internal adjustment of the feedback signals and runtime monitoring is disabled. I suggest you look at page 74 of the attachment. It lists all possibilities. If you want the full manual, please see the following manual: PCS7 Advanced Process Library (V8.1) |

Hi AGrs, It looks like this is a custom block?? I don't think it's coming from another APL library by the looks of it. |

Hi, Well, I don't know this library. Could you tell me a bit more, do you have a manual of this library? It doesn't look like it's an APL block. For PCS7, you only have the Condition Monitoring library and the Industry Library and add-ons CEMAT and Braumat. What I mean with custom block is a non Siemens block. For example, a user which created a SCL source. |
