Converted S7-300 file to S7-1500 does not like L DBNO

0_Einstein Diamond Expert Joined: 7/7/2010 Last visit: 11/19/2024 Posts: 15406 Rating: (2446)	When you reviewed the migration readme from Siemens as it relates to migrating from s7-300 to s7-1500, what kinds of instructions did it mention would have to be modified manually after the migration completed? Also, now that you are in S7-1500 with optimized DBs and symbolic tags / logic, maybe it is time to write the code in SCL (it will run just as fast in LAD/FBD/SCL/STL on S7-1500) using the s7-1500 programming guidelines. I do not know STL enough to know the answer you seek. However, I know enough about the transition having helped many s7-300 programmers convert to the dark side (TIA Portal) and they mostly seem to appreciate the new ways of doing things. fritz Diamond Member Joined: 10/7/2005 Last visit: 11/19/2024 Posts: 3027 Rating: (1057)	Hi Tonk an S7-300 kept the number of the last open DB in the DB Register when a Block is called. An S7-1500 does NOT and instead writes a 0 into the DB register upon a block call (see pic which is from the pdf at Entry ID 67655405). Your code snippet (which wants to save the AR and DB register value) is thus on the one hand not working as before anymore and the compiler on the other hand complains that you haven't (explicitly) opened a DB yet.
