RICII Posts: 34 Rating: (0)	Hi Forum, I have a IT module that was removed from a machine that had not been in service for quite a few months, maybe even a year or so. I have been given a new project to work on that requires the use ofthe module. I have connected up the unit toa S7300 215DP CPU and a few input / output cards. I have noticed that once the unit is powered up it instantly goes into run mode, without even configuring it! Also the run / stop switch doesn't do anything. Could it be this unit is broke? I've tried to communicate with the module without success, (by ethernet and MPI) is there a way of resetting the unit back to factory default? Many thanks,

Manual CP343-1 Advanced I don't think that the card is defect. Maybe there is a C-Plug in the back of the module? Have you tried to 'discover' the module when connected by ethernet? This is possible with the Primary Setup Tool or with the option 'Browse Ethernet Node' in the SIMATIC Manager. At this way you can detect the current IP-address. And in Chapter 10 is described how to clear the memory/Reset the Factory defaults. I think the best way to connect to the Module is by the S7 NCM Diagnostics. Just open the tool and try to create an online connection. Good luck.

J_Bell Posts: 5822 Rating: (412)	Hello RICII, how did you try to get on to the CP? The issue with the settings is, that if you have a C-Plug in the CP than the settings for the CP, also the IP and the MPI Address, are stored on it. So the CP goes to run, even without being configured by the CPU. It depends on the System the CP has been configured. It might be worth a try to remove the C-Plug, than the CP should behave different. Best regards J_Bell

aikona Posts: 487 Rating: (36)	Hi If you configured the CP card in the hardware then downloading the hardware configuration to the CPU .This should get the CP card into 'proper' operating mode . You should be happy to get something running with only a green LED , I usualy have probplmes with the red LED's Greetings Eric
