CPU 315-2DP Configured as Slave, Schneider PRM (Profibus Master) with M580 -Controller Schneider

Hello Electrical designer;

The first of the following FAQs will show you the step-by-step settings required to make a CPU 315-2DP a Profibus slave.The example uses a S7-400 as a Profibus master, and the data exchanged has been prepared for the requirements of that project, you will have to adapt with what you plan to exchange between your M-580 and your CPU 315-2DP slave.

Notice that in the 2 CPUs (master and slave) the data table is symmetrical, but reversed: what is input to the master is and output from the slave, what is output from the master becomes an input to the slave.

The second link holds the S7-300 gsd files; gsd files are text-based documents that are required in the Profibus configurator that you will use (I remember that Schneider used Sycon, this might no longer be the case with their newer models ..). Select the correct CPU, open the zip file and use the file with gse extension if you want English text; integrate it in your Profibus configurator, then you can setup a CPU 315-2DP as a Profibus slave in your configuration.

With both the BF and SF LEDs active on the S7-315-2DP, it would appear your data exchange configuration is wrongly setup. As I stated earlier, you must make sure that the bytes IN (in the master) become bytes OUT in the slave and vice-versa.

Your third picture (PRN Configuration) shows the S7-315-2DP as configured in the PRN, 100 byes OUT and 40 bytes IN, correct? 

Or is it showing both master and slave configurations in the same screenshot? I am a little bit confused by the way the PRN software presents the data.Can you provide a separate picture dedicated to the master configuration for the S7-315-2DP slave?

If all else fails, I can suggest a test: change the configuration of the S7-315-2DP in the PRN software so the first line reads"Master Q Slave I 16 B Unit", the second line reads "Master Q Slave I 16 B Unit",... and the last line reads "Master I Slave Q 8 B Unit", until all lines have the I and Qs reversed. Compile and download to the Schneider PLC, tell us if it changes anything in the active diagnostic LEDs.
