CPU 319 3PN/DP don't accept Memory card 512KB

Alpha Tech Experienced Member Joined: 6/23/2013 Last visit: 9/6/2024 Posts: 22 Rating: (0)	Good Morning Sirs ! I have two PLC S7_300, a CPU 314C 2PN/DP and CPU 319 3PN/DP. But I only one Memory Card 512KB. This memory card I use with CPU 314C 2PN/DP in normal status, but when I had used with CPU 319 3PN/DP then this CPU haven't accepted MC. SF lamp of CPU 319 is blink, I can't download, upload program for CPU. Could you support for me this error ? I read system manual of CPU 319 and see this CPU have work with Memory card 512K. I don't known why my CPU 319 don't accept MC 512K. Thanks Ke

Rudrani Posts: 163 Rating: (4)	hi, You cant use same mmc in both CPUs. but if you want to use this MMC for serving your temporary need then you can reset the Memory card using PG/mode selector switch. Then put that card in CPU and download the program. Regards, Rudrani

CPU 319 accept 512KB Otherwise do the Hotkey reset method 1. Turn Off the CPU. 2. Set and HOLD to Mres, then turn ON the CPU. 3. Wait for a while till 3 led blinking. 4. Release the mres, and set to release again. Hold around 3 seconds. 5. Release the mres. 6. That's it. Thanks, DINESH

Marcjan Platinum Expert Joined: 4/22/2010 Last visit: 5/3/2024 Posts: 5697 Rating: (715)	Hello, You can use the card you programmed for the 314 in the other PLC if you reset it in the CPU MMC It is only possible to reset the MMC if it contains data^* that is invalid for the CPU. ^* Invalid system data is, for example, data stored for a different type of CPU. Otherwise the MMC is only initialized by the procedure described. All the user data is deleted when you reset the SIMATIC Micro Memory Card (MMC). Proceed as follows. The MMC is slotted in the bay of the CPU. The CPU requests an overall reset (slow blinking of the STOP LED). Set the switch to "MRES" and hold it there until the STOP LED lights continuously (approx. 9 seconds). Within the next 3 seconds, you must let the switch go and set it again to "MRES". The STOP LED now blinks during the delete procedure. If the CPU continues to request an overall reset after the procedure described above, then the MMC is defective. Regards, Marcjan
