Hi all Siemens writes that new the CPU generation distributes the user program and communication execution. So it uses one CPU core to executed the user program and another CPU core for communication - this was due to poor performance when eg. communication with the OPC UA protocol. The Simatic S7 product family is getting upgrades by Tuomas Pirttijoki on Siemens Blog Does anyone know where to see or verify which PLC's that uses this function? |

Hi! I'm not sure about this point but as a general rule, firmware updates are usually linked to a product note that you can check on the support page by filtering between products. Here you can find the latest available. |

Hi, this CPUs with the additional core were released 2023 in parallel to firmware V3.0 and TIA V18. The additional core is only for the CPUs with new hardware (1511, 1513, 1515, 1516). The CPUs 1517/1518 only got firmware V3.0 but not a new hardware release, so also no additional core! Delivery release for the innovated CPU 1511(F)-1 PN and CPU 1513(F)-1 PNDelivery release for innovated CPU 1515(F)-2 PN and CPU 1516(F)-3 PN/DPregards sancruz |
