Custom Fail-safe FB

fazal hussain Posts: 42 Rating: (0)	Hi, I am trying to create a custom Fail-Safe FB containing only Fail Safe Blocks from the F Library, however when i compile the FB, i get a non-fail safe FB. How can i generate a yellow fail-safe FB?

Late Platinum Member Joined: 1/7/2006 Last visit: 11/17/2023 Posts: 2705 Rating: (318)	Hi, When you put Failsafe CFC-blocks in a Chart for example "CFC BlockSafe"then you have to use the struct for a Failsafe Signal. The struct looks like STRUCT: DATA[BOOL], PAR_ID[WORD], COMPLEM[WORD] When you use this struct then the block will compile right, when you are using CHART --> Compile --> Chart as Block Type... [;)] This block can then be used as a FailSafe FunctionBlock for further integration....

I'am not realy sure that this is working for a Failsafe block, it would be that the block is looking for a failsafe library.[:(]

Safety1 Posts: 73 Rating: (20)	Hello, You do not have to create the structures manually as there are many attributes which must be entered. Simply drag the parameterof the FB on the CFC chart to the first open NAME field in the Chart INPUT/OUTPUT Window. See attached picture I hope this helps.
