Cyclic Absolute not working

In adition to my previous post I did some tests in Plc-sim advanced, and concluded that in the configuration of the 'exteranal encoder object' the encoder type 'Cyclic absolute' did not work.
Although writing an incrementing position to the datablock, there was no change in the actual position of the external encoder object. I does work when I change the encoder type to 'Incremental'.
My question now is, will the actual position of the external encoder object be remanent over power cycling or not in my configuration with the Sick ATM 60.
I have no opportunity to test with the real hardware, so I need to know beforehand if this setup will work.

I also encountered the same phenomenon, with cyclic Absolute not working.

I use Portal V16 and the encoder is PN singleturn absolute value. Configuration external encoder TO, modulo length are 100000mm, encoder every turn are 628mm, the actual position is zero cleaning every 628mm, not I imagined after 100000mm zero cleaning once.

i don't know how to solve it.

You'd probably need to provide more information.

Do you also work with PLCSIM, like the other user you refer to? Do you simulate the encoder's feedback interface in some kind (e.g. with own user program or some simulation like SIMIT)? Or do you use the TO with its simulation mode enabled?
Or do you use a real PLC with a real encoder?

What does <TO>.StatusSensor show?

What exactly is happening? I don't really get what your issue is from your description.
