Hellohieutran8969, You can find all answers in theDP/PA link manual. I recommend to read it carefully. A short answer, You can connect maximum 31 PA device per non EX coupler as long as the 31 PA devices do not consume more than 1000 mA. You can connect maximum 64 PA devices over 5 couplers per link (IM153-2). You must not exceed the limits of the IM153-2 which is 244 bytes of inputs and 244 bytes of outputs.
If you have more than 244 bytes of inputs or more than 244 bytes of outputs, you will have to go for an additional DP/PA link. The total number of slots available for all PA devices will be (236 - No. of PA devices). You must take care of your physical network. I think it's limited to something around 500 meters per segment (coupler) in non EX applications. You must take care of the relation between the count of spur lines and their lengths. There are many things to take care of other than the limitation of the 244 bytes. Once again, please read the manual carefully. Best regards, H-H |
