Hai All, Today one of our customer complained that after a power break of 24 hours, values in plc showing initial values. in scada, they can see the setpoints. last week, they noted the values feeded, after weekly off they made power on and observed values in scada, but showing initial values. observation at site: 1. 412-2 dp is the plc used with flash card. battery is new one and showing 3.6v. There is no BAF indication. 2. when uploaded the program, online configuration cpu is showing as 414-2 dp, but still running without any problem. Can anybody explain about this ? 3. customer reported that problem is happening only after a long power down time. if it is 15-30 minute they didnot find any problem. Since machine was in running condition, i couldnt able to turn off plc and check 4. there is enough internal free memory available. 5. in diagnostic buffer, entry is present as back up power is not available . please find attached file for diagnostic buffer. 5. there are no memory area configured under retentive areas, but all db are retentive only(in configuration) what and all the possible reason for retentive issue ?? battery, cpu problem then ? regards vipz AttachmentDiagnose.pdf (308 Downloads) |

Hello, Could be a lot off things. Battery'sand contacts in the powersupply must be checked. Someone did move the bat failure selector switch to off? Pins bend at the backplane. Powersupply defect. Cpu problem. You can check a few things by using external backup power. This can be a ordanary 9V block (see attachment for more details. You can then safely remove CPU without losing data, if you do lose data CPU could be the problem. If you do not lose your data, powersupply or backplane is the problem.
