Hello SIOS Forum Community, As usual with SIMATIC software products, the WinCC licences are also based on licence keys, which are managed with the Automation License Manager. Defective or lost license keys can only be repaired or made available again via Siemens Industry Support. A prerequisite for this is proof of ownership in the form of copies of the certificates or photos of the licence key data carriers (diskette for authorisations up to V5.x, USB stick for licence keys from V6.x). Important: it is not sufficient to provide proof of the last upgrade, if any, but ownership must be proven starting with the purchase of the individual licence including all subsequent upgrades. It is therefore important to keep certificates or licence key data carriers for a long time. The increasing delivery of licences as downloads facilitates the storage of licence certificates in their electronic form. Until defective or lost licence keys are repaired or made available again, the WinCC Runtime systems continue to run with licence error messages but with unrestricted functionality. How and by what means repair or replacement is provided (recovery online, dispatch of data media) is decided by Technical Support depending on the situation. If V5.x authorisations still need to be transferred, a floppy disk drive is required. External USB drives are also suitable for this purpose.
