difference between Analog I/p 6ES5243-1AB11 & 6ES5243-1BA11

jkp Posts: 27 Rating: (1)	Dear Mr.Navnag, Thanks for reply.I have gone through the link, but they have given detail of AA, AB & AC only.No detail about BA. in one of our equipment 6ES5243-1AB11 module has failed & we dont have same in the spare.we are having 6ES5243-1BA as spare, can we use this card.

I Assume it is S5-135U / 155U 6ES6 243-1BA11 - Is a VERY old module ( Discontinued in 1994 ) .. Functionally it is supposed to be compatible with -1AA12 and possibly -1AA11 too !!! The card that you have was meant for S5-130W. while you want to install it in a S5-155U rack. The Backplanes for 130W rack & 155U rack are different as far as I know. So in all likelyhood, it would not work in S5-155U. By the way did this card come as a spare with the S5-155U or have you sourced it from elsewhere ?? Cheers Navnag

jkp Posts: 27 Rating: (1)	Dear Navnag The card 6ES5 243-1AB11isconnected in the Rack 6ES5 183-3UA12 & this rack is located in the operator cabin of the equipment and the CPU (PLC) is at other location ie at electrical control room. This card (6ES5 243-1BA11) has come with equipment as warrenty spare.

Navnag Platinum Expert Joined: 11/21/2007 Last visit: 9/25/2024 Posts: 2325 Rating: (308)	Dear jkp EU-183 has only the upper backplaneconnectors ( Conn # 1 )except for First & Last Slot ( Which are used for IMs ) - You can peek into the rack and check yourself. As is clear from the pictures, the Spare available with you has a connector at the bottom, therefore even though it may be functionally same, it cannot connect to the backplane bus in EU-183 ( S5-155U ) so obviously it will not work So I guess someone made a mistake and supplied a wrong module as spare. Bad News !!! but such is life !!! Cheers Navnag
