Hi, A Control Module is an instance chart that is based on a Control Module Type. Control Module Types are created in the master library under plant view. They are used mainly for use in Plant Automation Accelerator to execute bulk engineering. But PAA is not mandatory. You can copy a Control Module Type in the project under plant view. A Control Module instance is created. There are rules for a CM instance. Adding or deleting interconnections within the chart is not allowed. Parameters that are set as OCM (Operator Control Monitoring) can be changed like MonTiDynamic (delay time for feedback). Also with the CMT comes a new editor called Technological IO editor. You can set specific signals or parameters to be excluded from synchronization. Therefore it's possible to give each instance a specific value. It really helps the type-instance concept. You change the type and all instances are updated. Much better than the previous Process Tag Types. Also with CMT you can create variants. It's possible to create a Valve CMT with only feedback open, only feedback closed, or no feedback. You configure this in one CMT and you do not need more versions. |

Hi Alex, yes with the view from PCS 7, the Control Module (Type) is a CFC but it has two more parts. If you use a CM or CMT in PAA or SIMIT you can't see the logic in the CFC and see only the defined input- and output-signals (Technological I/Os) of the CM or CMT.
As Oreca described in this post there are some rules to consider, but if you do that you can gain a lots of advantages if you use CMTs. With regards |
