Difference between S7-200 PPI and S7-200 MPI

Paresh Posts: 116 Rating: (1)	Hi, according to my observations, S7-200 can work in both PPI and MPI interface. In MPI it will act as passive station only and will respond to the querries sent by Master. I want to know from where I can activate MPI mode of CPU? Regards Paresh

Regards Paresh Hi Paresh I know its not that straight forward to configure MPI in S7200. Right now i dont have hardware with me to explain you in details. Still I will try to Explain ... 1. In Set PG/PC Interface select MPI as Active Interface. 2. Then in your Communication Setting Right Blank Rectangle you should able to see MPI . (Check the Screen shot .) 3. Connect S7 200 PLC & your Laptop or PG on with MPI Cable . 4. Once your online with PLC then only you can set one of the port as MPI . Then you will able to seecomplete inteface Right sides Blank Rectangle. For More details you can Search in MicroWin Help "What Are My Communication Choices?\Multi-Point Interface (MPI)" I hope it will help you upto some extend. All the best.
