Differences between G120 and S120

The number of possible applications is infinite.

The common strengths of both SINAMICS S120 and SINAMICS G120 is they are both supported by same tools of selection (i.e. SIZER for Siemens Drives) and Engineering (i.e. STARTER).

As a general rule, I recommend select SINAMICS G120 when application is speed control or torque control of a squirrel cage induction motor.

If application is more dynamic to require servo motors or angular synchronized load control through motors then SINAMICS S120 is optimum choice. Also, it the application can benefit by sharing of a dc common bus among several motor modules/motors then SINAMICS S120 in multi-axis configurationis optimum choice for a very compact and reliable drive system.
