Differences between S7-1200 and S7-200S?

I've working for a long time with S7-400 so I know this system a very well but now I have to make a one project withS7-1214C or S7-200S. Only problem is that I don't know which one I have to choose. I need 10 DI/DO and 4 AI/AO and one SIMATIC HMI Basic Panel. The system have to be a simple and efficient and also extensible. IsSTEP7 Basic -program included into S7-1200 packet? Can I also use this STEP7Basic tomake a TouchPanel application? Earlier I have used WinCC Flexible to create a TouchPanel application and STEP7 v5.4 for creating PLC programs and I suppose that this program is also needed to create programs to S7-200S. br. Mike

One software package to program CPU and panel. 3. A lot of examples (which could find it here) concerning almost all points of using S7-1200 hardware. 4. New Firmware 2 press release + new modules Finally: with releasing of TIA Portal 11, you could use what you want. The new TIA Portal V11 contains the following programs: - Step 7 for PLC 300,400 STL/FBD/LAD/SCL/GRAPH - Step 7 Basic for the 1200 V1 and V2 FBD/LAD and SCL - "WinCC flexible" small to advanced -> new name "WinCC" - WinCC V7.1 -> new name "WinCC Professional" But this is the life. Everything depends what do you have at the moment like hardware and software and what will you need to buy - question of budget. Hope help you a little. Best regards, Hristo Mihalev
