Hi guys.

I don't know if DO1 and DO2 can be configured anyway. I have been looking for any explanation in manuals but I only found the schemes to connect them. 

How do they work? Can i select them yo change their position or state by a lack or lost of comunication when been controled by MODBUS, for instance? 

Can they be configured to actívate any alarm in case of a fault in any of the motor cables for instance? 

I would like to get any help about them.

Digital outputs are controlled by:

P731:0 default being 52.3, which is seen as r0052.0 inverter fault active.

and

P732:0, default being 52.7, which is seen as r0052.7 inverter warning active.

The 'status words', can be allocated to the digital outputs, DO2 is relay, and DO1 is transistor.

Digital outputs can also be allocated to digital outputs in the BICO functions, r2811 for example is the output of AND gate 1, useful to check operation of these gates whilst working out a BICO sequence.

I´ve been "playing" a little bit with DO1 by conecting the 10v output positive terminal to born 15; and the negative one to a resistor and a to a LED. It works perfectly if I disconect the communication cable for instance. I changed p748 (0) too, to prove it as well. Ok. Everything was OK. But... What is the meaning of the value 52.3 in p731. It is said that "Defines source of digital output 1". But what are the different options to choose. Is there any values list anywhere? I don´t understand... :-(

 The digital output can be operated by status word 1, for example.

In the manual 'Operating Instructions', in the 'parameter list', find Status Word 1. 

Here, r0052:0 to r0052:15 is listed. The number after the : (colon) defines which bit of status word one is to operate the digital output.

Example: status word 1

r0052:00, inverter ready, (the 52.0 is the number to enter into P0731:0 = 52.0)

r0052:01, inverter ready to run

r0052:02, inverter running

r0052:03, inverter fault active

Also: for Status word 2

r0053:00, DC brake active

r0053:01, Frequency above P2167

r0053:00,Frequency above P1080

You need a copy of the V20 manual to see the above options. Also if you can find a useful 'digital' high signal in the parameter list, you can use it to activate either of the digital outputs.

The V20 is referred to as a 'basic inverter' in the SIEMENS web site, but there are a great number of things available in this inverter, but you have to find them which can be difficult.

Hello again, my friend.

Yes. I understand now. I have made some successfull probes changing values for p731 and p732 which worked as expected.

But one more question. I would like any of the DO to be activated if one of the wires that go from the inverter to the motor broke. I tried to select 52.11 or 52.15, but neither of them worked. Do you know any way to detect it?

Try r3113:01, this is 'power line failure', not what you asked for but similar.

There is a list of Fault bits, which may be useful.

I will have a look around to see if anything else is useful.

Hello again.

I changed p0731 into 3113.7 value but DO1 didn´t worked when I disconected the communication cable.

If I set p0731 back into 52.3 value and disconnected the bus communication again, DO1 worked fine.

I don´t understand the reason. Any suggestion?

Apart from that, once the DO1 is activated by communication faul, my motor stops inmediatly, which could be dangeros for some machines... Do you know the way to control the motors when a fault happens? I´ve been looking in the instructions you sent me but I didn´t find anything. I´ll try it again...

P2100,  here you can enter a fault number, and in P2101 enter the reaction to the fault.

OFF1 is a ramp down, as p1121..

OFF2 is a coast to stop, this disables the output stage so may stop quick depending upon mechanical losses.

OFF3 is another ramp down time, as P1135, so could be different to OFF1.

Cannot be sure why the 3113.7 failed to work, I would like to be able to test this here but do not have a device to try it out with.

Hi Tractor. Here I am again.

I have been making some probes with P2100,  to enter a fault number, and P2101 to choose the reaction to the fault. It works perfectly and allows me to set the way the motor stops.

I also tried with different values which could maybe be something similar to the fault of a motor phase, for p0731 but I didn´t success.

Do not worry. It could be solve with other different systems.

I congratulate you on the way you t each me with the different aspects I didn´t know about the SINAMICS V20.

I´m still waiting to find a solution to another topic I created in  the forum. That is"Speed for the v20 by MODBUS". If you could help me with it, that would be great for me. But If not possible, thank you for everything.
