Hello HCBM; A BF LED becomes active when any Profibus or Profinet node encounters a communication problem on its network. Very often it results from an error in addressing, and a diagnostic message is logged in the diagnostic buffer of the CPU when that happens. You therefore have the possibility of finding indications of the problem in the diagnostic buffer (suggestion: open it...). In the DP/DP coupler operating manual, chapter 4 is dedicated to the steps for commissioning the coupler. Pay special attention to the DIL-switches that are set in the coupler, one series for each side (there are 2 distinct slaves on a DP/DP coupler). https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/ww/en/view/1179382 The screenshot below (the left part) shows how I have usually worked with the DP/DP coupler, setting the DIA and ADDR switches to OFF, and using the numbered switches (64 to 1) in combination to set each slave's address as configured in its own project. The next critical step is to configure the data exchange correctly for the 2 slaves that are part of the coupler. The right part of the screenshot gives an example for such configuration: every line in each slave's configuration (module) must be of the same length, but inverted. For example, in the screenshot, line 1 shows 2 bytes input for slave 1, but 2 bytes output for slave 2, This is very important. Examine the configurations line per line and see that each line that is input in network 1 must be an output in network 2; the reverse is also true Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier |
