Error after converting TIA Portal V10.5 to V12

But after compiling I have got errors on CONV instructions and with "IEC_Timer.RU" bit and PID block version. I have attached converted backup for your reference. Currently, program was downloaded with V10.5 version. So, I am not able to upload previous programs in PLC. What to do? Plz suggest any solution for this. Thanks, Shailesh The IEC_TIMER.RU bit is no longer available. That is what is causing you the problem. Even after deleting that bit, still errors are there. How to do conversion from "Dint to Time"? in TIA portal V12 ? As most the errors are related to this point. Shailesh

To your Conv problem: If you just want to move the value from one real to an other real variable like in FC15 or FC5,then take "Move" instead of "Conv". For converting Dint to Time take "T_CONV" Thenthisshould work.

In my current situation, earlier program was developped in TIA Portal V10.5. So I think upload is not possible. Can I download the program directly to PLC or not? Thanks, Shailesh

Thanks, Shailesh If you want to upload, it is not so simple in Portal 10.5. If you have Portal 10.5 SP2 (and latest update), you can copy the PLC blocks and tags and such by looking at accessible nodes, and accessing that way and dragging the items to an empty project with the same plc / firmware revision. However, if you have the project files, you will not lose your comments and network comment block contents. [If you right click on a component, you can add comments to a specific piece, but if you drag from the online plc, those comments are lost]

I have removed all errors successfully. Now backup is ready without any errors. I am using V12 now. So, do I have to download this program again using V12 version? Is it possible? Thanks, Shailesh

Thanks, Shailesh To download the V12 program, it may be a very good idea to first capture (manually, via watch table) all important process parameters that are not the default values. Once you do that, you can download your V12 program, modify all your watch table values using your snapshot, and it should be ready to restart as a new machine. Then you can actually go online with the V12 project. Please be aware that you may have some minor issues to resolve along the way, so start back up in stages and look at the plc program in areas you had to make your changes.
