Divex Posts: 3 Rating: (0)	Hi, Would there be possible if someone could try to advice how I could solve my requirement where two independent PLC controllers are connected to the same ET200M I/O station via profibus or profinet , and both could have the full access to inputs and outputs. For example I need that Q0.0 output on the output card module residing in ET200M is driven by both PLC controllers at the same time. How could I achieve this? I was hoping shared device functionality will do this, but unfortunately not. regards PC

What should happen if PLC 1 sets Q 0.0 high and PLC 2 low ? Do you want: + Q 0.0 = output from PLC 1 OR output from PLC 2 or + Q 0.0 = output from PLC 1 AND output from PLC 2 ? Possible solutions: solution 1: use a shared I-device to program the logic ( AND, OR or something else) -> requires an intelligent slave solution 2: use a shared device. Control Q 0.0 with PLC 1 and Q 1.0 with PLC 2 and build the logic in hardware (AND = series, OR = parallel) -> requires more I/Os and cabling and is less flexible

Divex Posts: 3 Rating: (0)	Hi , Sorry for not giving a feedback. I need logic OR. I think solution 1 will not work as you can not access the same output by 2 off independent plc's. Sharing basically means you can split your modules within intelligent I/O station, so some are assigned to one plc and some to the other. Two plc's can not unfortunately write to the same Q. I am going towards something similar to solution 2 which is completely independent second plc with its own I/O configuration and all connected to actuators via relay/diode switching arragement. thanks PC

Controller 1 (as Master - either "DP Master or PN Master") - ET200M is configured in controller 1. - The sequence is saved in controller 1 and the I/O from the other controller will be added on your sequence. It's up to you what logic you want. - Recipient of data from controller 1 (you must use send/receive blocks DPRD_DAT(SFC14) to receive the data "in your case the I/O of controller 2" Controller 2 (as Slave - either "DP Slave or PN Slave") - Controller 2 has to send data using DPWR_DAT(SFC15) to controller 1 Click this Master-Slave configuration for DP Note: slaves can also write on the master, not only read.
