ET200S and corresponding IM151 module isn't available

MatsNil Posts: 46 Rating: (4)	I'm having a similar problem with TIA v12 SP1. I have already added a CPU1215 in my project. Now, I also want to add a ET 200S with IM151 PN for ET200S (6ES7151-3BA23-0AB0). I've tried installing the HSP but the ET200S and corresponding IM151 module i want isn't available. Is this because it's not supported, or is there another way around it? For now i've installed the GSD file for IM151 module and added it to the network view. I added the IO-modules i need for it, but will i be able to program the device? -Mats

Wizard Diamond Expert Joined: 4/24/2006 Last visit: 5/16/2023 Posts: 8586 Rating: (1127)	Hello MatsNil, I have TIA Portal v12 and I can find ET200s (IM151-3PN 6ES7 151-3BA23-0AB0) Go to Device Configuration -> Network View Then in Catalog go to Distributed I/O -> ET 200S -> Interface Modules -> Profinet -> IM151-3PN and here you will find the desired IM 151 module. Best regards, Wizard Yes, I might have been a bit unclear about that. After I installed the GSD file, i added the IM151 module from the catalog. But now it appears as a unassigned device in the Project tree "Device", and I'm no sure if i can program it the same way as if I added at an ET200S with the corresponding IM151 module. Best regards, Wizard When i click the "not assigned" link in network view, nothing happens. I tried opening up a new project in TIA v11 and create a new device, but it is not available there either. According to this documenthttp://www.automatyka.siemens.pl/docs/docs_ia/st70_2013_9_ET200.pdfthe IM151-3 PN is listed as "Interface module without CPU"? Edit: I could rightclick the "not assigned" link, and add IO controller. But the 1215CPU was the only one available..

Why do you use GSD, if it is already standard in TIA Portal available? What if make a new connection between IM151-3PN and CPU. Best regards, Wizard

If you are using TIA Portal Basic, you can only use S7-1200 CPUs When you use TIA Portal Professional, you can use S7-1200, S7-300, S7-400 and S7-1500 CPUs The ET200S CPU (IM151-8 CPU) is based on S7-300 CPU. I'm guessing since the IM151-3 module does not have CPU it will have to be put into the Project through the Library, instead of through the "add New Device". Won't be able to test yet, but I hope it works out! Thank you for your support Wizard! You want to add it [ET200S/IM151} as distributed I/O to your s7-1215. Once you are in the s7-1215 project tree, expand so you can see the distributed i/o section. Now select it and expand it. Now in the available hardware in the right pane (if using the default layout) you can sift through and find the ET200S/modules you are using and add as distributed i/o. Also, this should work in TIA Portal Basic V11 SP1 or higher (or was that SP2 with proper hardware support pack). If your install is missing any hardware, look for a hardware support pack to add the missing ET200S/IM151.
