Faceplate for Fail-safe acknowledgement (SWC_QOS)

In runtime a mouse hover over the icon triggers the mouse event animation (lightning bolt),
but left click fails to trigger the Faceplate. The same project when run on a
laptop with OS Simulation triggers the Faceplate. The only differences I can discern
is the real OS is in a Client / Server arrangement and the AS has a connection to the OS.
The OS Simulation does not have any User Authorization set-up.
Does the operator need any user authorization other than "Process controlling" and "Higher Process Controlling"?


I have a PCS 7 V9.0 + SP2 installation with two redundant servers, four clients and and engineering station.
V9.0 SP2 means:
AS-Os Engineering V9.0 + SP3
S7 F Configuration Pack V5.4 + SP13
SIMATIC S7 F Systems V6.2

which is very useful except for the use of Ident which is not very clear.

 Can you help? Have you experienced something similar? How did you get the Faceplate to activate? Is it related to the Fail-safe aspects of the icon or not? Other faceplates for Motors and

Valves work without fail.

With respect to failsafe acknowledgement, apart from the user authorizations, it is a transaction which can only be performed by an individual operator who initiates, checks, and confirms the change. However, one transaction can be performed by two operators. The first operator initiates the change (initiator) and the second re-enters, checks, and confirms the value (confirmer).

Operator authorizations are set in the faceplate properties. The connection IDs are generated by the system automatically, in contrast with SDW.
