Field generated current in sinamics

I have observed that when the motors are not in operation , still the drive shows some current as field gen. current. However if we measure the current by using amperemeter at output cable , it does measure any value. If we switch off the MCB installed in output side of drive before motor, this current becomes zero . This makes me think that this current is flowing through the motor windings. Question: 1) Why this current is present , when the motor is not in operation (stopped) ? 2) If this current flows through motor ,does it tend to trip the output MCB ? Appreciate your expert information. Regardss

KumarPra Hi These are normal induction motors. When there is no start command to the drive , even then this current is observed.

Can someone explain the concept of field generated current in AC drives ? Does this current really flows through the motor stator winding. If, yes , why is it not detectable by normal clamp meter ?
