Get data from SMC30 encoder through 317t

With SINAMCIS S120 CU320 <=V2.6.2 you can get the date with telegram 6/106 and TO external Encoder. The SMC30 must be configured as second Encoder on the drive. With SINAMICS >=V4.3 you can configure the SMC30 as DO external encoder in SINAMICS an use it with TO external encoder. Regards Christoph

ChristophD Grandmaster-Expert Joined: 5/12/2006 Last visit: 3/20/2023 Posts: 21352 Rating: (2818)	Hello, when you configure the drive the there is a dialog called "Encoder" In this dialog you configure the encoders of this drive. Normally the first encoder is the motor builtin encoder and you cam configure the second encoder when you activate the checkbox "Encoder 2" in this dialog. When you have configured 2 encoders and telegram 6/106 is selected the the drive will send the two encoder values to the controller in this telegram. In S7TConfig you create an TO "External Encoder" an connect it with the second Encoder interface of the drive, now the encodervalues are send from SINAMICS to this TO and you can work with it.
