HMI with two independent PROFIBUS networks

MaxHotta Posts: 15 Rating: (0)	Hello Dear Friends, Must communicate an HMI or SCADA System with two independent PROFIBUS networks. Each network with your master and slave. They are two cnc 840D, each with its HMI. I need to send and receive "R" parameters for both CNCS independently. I thought of using DP / PA coupler, and a simple HMI. Can I use two Coupler? Grateful, and sorry for my poor English.

Davinator Gold Member Joined: 1/4/2013 Last visit: 9/20/2023 Posts: 1085 Rating: (98)	I do not understand what you want to do. What you are using ? HMI (Scada) or PLC ? What you want communicate to ? Two systems ? These systems have HMI and PLC both ? Anyway, if you have an HMI only then you cannot use a coupler since a coupler must be parametrizer and used with a PLC system. Maybe if you are more clear we can help you more, sir.

MaxHotta Posts: 15 Rating: (0)	I Have two identical machines with 840D Cnc,and I need to communicate with both in another HMI. I do not know if dp/dp coupler is the best option. Each machine has it own profibus network

A coupler works in this manner : HMI---> PLC---------> Coupler<------------Other PLC(s)+OtherHMI(s) You would need the PLC, so forget the coupler. I can't help you more. Perhaps the HMI connected directly to that network in Profibus can work
